True, smoking and drinking can kill a lot...Ananda,

True, smoking and drinking can kill a lot many than accidents.. But we must know that govt cannot mandate the ban of these ills. There are a no. of reasons for it. Most prominent one being, it gives livelihood for crores of people.
However, the helmet rule is not like that. It works on its own for the benefit of the people.

So, we cant compare the two.

We must appreciate and support the govt when it tries to do something good (It does very little good)...Abhihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05706179440792336431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6686599399217850817.post-17755701665803036412006-12-13T23:02:00.000+05:302006-12-13T23:02:00.000+05:30@ Ananda

Of course, i'm talking abt the safety aspect of it.. No comments on the fattening pockets of the politicians..!!
Its unfair to say ppl r suffering cos of the helmets.. They definitely save loads of lives.. More so, when head-injuries prove to b the most common fatal injury seen in road traffic accidentsRakshithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02322132455850029345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6686599399217850817.post-77162319558350441832006-12-08T09:48:00.000+05:302006-12-08T09:48:00.000+05:30Here is a discrepency in out government's attitude...Here is a discrepency in out government's attitude: They do allow us to smoke, drink alcohol, they only sell lotteries, so why don't they let us drive without helmets? More people are suffering because of these than road accidents on two wheelers. It seems that government is running behind money, that is all. If mandating helmets can bring revenue, they mandate it, that is all. I don't think they are showing true concern for citizens.Anandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05355322291573402656noreply@blogger.com
